平特五不中 receives funding from the Canadian Space Agency for exoplanet studies using the James Webb Space Telescope

平特五不中 has received funding from the Canadian Space Agency for two separate projects dedicated to the study of exoplanets, using the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The projects are slated for completion by June 2025. Both studies will be led by Professor Nicolas Cowan.

Undergraduate research takes center stage at Poster Showcase

Thousands flock to 平特五不中 to take in solar eclipse

Real Data and Real Solutions in MATH 527

On a cloudy afternoon this past December, a group of 平特五不中 students gathered in a downtown Montr茅al boardroom to give a data science presentation to Citera, a sustainability analytics company. This presentation wasn鈥檛 for an internship or any other extracurricular activity 鈥 it was part of one of 平特五不中鈥檚 newest and most innovative courses:听MATH 527, Statistical Data Science Practicum.

Soup & Science: 平特五不中鈥檚 stew-pendous serving of research

Recently, 平特五不中 undergraduate students had the opportunity to savor an enriching blend of knowledge and soup at the 37th edition of Soup & Science. This week-long event, occurring once a semester, highlights research taking place on campus. This semester鈥檚 showcase included topics across disciplines, ranging from quantum meta-photonics to optogenetic stimulation in roundworms, and students were able to learn and engage with these topics in an intimate setting.

A push for more women in computer science

When Jade Raymond, BSc鈥98, studied at 平特五不中鈥檚 School of Computer Science, she was one of few women in the program and 鈥淚 think the only woman I knew in my year who went and got a job as a programmer in computer science after graduating.鈥

Raymond became a trailblazer in the video game industry, helping create the huge hit听Assassin鈥檚 Creed, and building studios from the ground up for Ubisoft and Electronic Arts.听
