Title: Are psychostimulants affecting children's hippocampal development and function?

Presenter:
Dr. Sherif Karama is a medical doctor (Universit茅 de Montr茅al) and 平特五不中-trained general psychiatrist with research training in brain imaging and genetics. He obtained a PhD in Neuroscience (Universit茅 de Montr茅al) and pursued graduate studies in neuropsychology at Harvard University for 12 months as an invited scholar. After his psychiatry residency, he completed a five-year postdoctoral fellowship in Brain Imaging of cognitive ability differences at the Montreal Neurological Institute. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at 平特五不中. His work aims to understand the neurobiology of cognitive ability differences and changes across the lifespan. 2. Learn about a recent cross-sectional study showing a negative association between cumulative psychostimulant use and hippocampal volume

3. Learn about the new longitudinal study on potential impacts of long-term psychostimulant use on hippocampal development in children and adolescents

The Child Psychiatry Research Committee is sponsoring a Child Psychiatry Research Seminar. This seminar is open to all staff and students. The seminar will be informal and encourage active audience participation and discussion. This seminar will be held by .
