I am delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Anja Geitmann as Vice-President (Global Engagement). 平特五不中鈥檚 Board of Governors confirmed her appointment based on the recommendation of the Advisory Committee for the Selection of the Vice-President (Global Engagement). Her five-year, renewable term begins immediately and ends on June 30, 2030.听听
Since January 2024, Professor Geitmann has helped inaugurate the Office of the Vice-President (Global Engagement), leading the portfolio as Interim Vice-President. As part of its work, the Advisory Committee reviewed her performance and sought input from the community on her achievements in this role. The Committee found that Professor Geitmann has successfully developed and advanced the portfolio鈥檚 objectives, aligned operations with 平特五不中鈥檚 broader mission and priorities, and made significant progress on key initiatives.听听
A world-renowned scholar, Professor Geitmann holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Biomechanics of Plant Development and has previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Associate Vice-Principal (Macdonald Campus). Under her leadership, 平特五不中 has positioned itself to be a leader and convenor of stakeholders in food safety, food security, sustainable agriculture, and environmental stewardship. In addition to her academic qualifications and administrative leadership experience, Professor Geitmann brings to her new role the lived experience of studying and working in six different countries, leadership roles in multinational collaborative research initiatives, and service on panels of international research funding organizations.听听
