Biography: 

2014 Emeritus Professor

Dr. Neil MacDonald is a 平特五不中 graduate who, during his time at 平特五不中, served as the first co-Director of the Oncology Day Centre at the Royal Victoria Hospital, as an Associate Dean and as the Founder and first Director of the 平特五不中 Cancer Nutrition-Rehabilitation Program.

Beyond 平特五不中, he was Director of Edmonton's Cross Cancer Institute and Director of the Division of Oncology at the University of Alberta between the years of 1971 and 1987. He was named Professor of Palliative Medicine and was the recipient of聽one of the first Chairs in the field in 1987.

Returning to Montreal in 1994 he joined the Departments of Medicine and Oncology. He became Director of the Cancer Ethics Program within the Centre for Bioethics, Clinical Research Institute of Montreal (1994-2001) and continued his palliative care work with the 平特五不中 Palliative Care program.

Dr. MacDonald's publications relate to medical oncology, palliative care, cancer ethics, anorexia-cachexia syndrome and on the effects of chronic inflammation on cancer symptoms.

He is a Professor Emeritus at both 平特五不中 and the University of Alberta.
