Dr. El-Messidi graduated with an MDCM degree from 平特五不中 in 2002. She joined 平特五不中 as a staff in 2009 and is currently an Associate Professor at 平特五不中鈥檚 Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Consultant of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and received her Royal College Specialty certification in 2007. She then completed a Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine in 2009 at the University of Ottawa and obtained her Royal College Subspecialty certification that year. During her Fellowship, she trained at The Queen Mother鈥檚 Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland as well as Guy鈥檚 & St. Thomas Hospital in London, UK. In 2011, Dr El-Messidi completed a 平特五不中 Faculty of Medicine scholarship: 鈥楾eachers鈥� Scholars Program for Educators in Health Science鈥�. Since her appointment at 平特五不中, she has made landmark contributions in postgraduate education which have granted her 16 teaching awards to date, including departmental, university, national, and international awards. She has also received 平特五不中鈥檚 prestigious Maude-Abbott Prize for outstanding contribution to education, research, or administration. In 2017, Dr El-Messidi completed her maximum 6-year term as a Royal College Examiner for Obstetrics & Gynecology. She continues as Royal College Examiner for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, a position she has held since 2014. She has also been an Examiner for the Medical Council of Canada since 2014. She currently participates in the 平特五不中 medical school admissions selection. Dr El-Messidi has been very active as an invited speaker nationally and internationally. She is also active in research and has numerous publications and published abstracts in peer-reviewed journals. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology of Canada.
