Exploring Life, the Universe, and Everything: X-ray microTomography at the Canadian Light Source

Monday, May 13, 2024 10:00to11:00
Adams Building FDA Room 3, 3450 rue University, Montreal, QC, H3A 0E8, CA

Sergey Gasilov (Bio-Life Department, CLS)

The Canadian Light Source (CLS) is Canada鈥檚 national synchrotron facility, located on the grounds of the University of Saskatchewan. CLS offers a number of advanced X-ray diagnostic techniques which find applications in leading-edge biomedical, advanced materials, batteries, fuel-cell, agriculture, and environmental studies. This talk focuses on beamlines for X-ray imaging and microtomography. Examples of high-spatial resolution, multiscale, high-throughput, fast time-resolved, in-vivo, and operando imaging will be shown. Practical aspects and challenges associated with using the synchrotron radiation will be discussed.
