A series of conferences on neurocognitive disorders presented by AVC-Aphasie Laval and 平特五不中
AVC-Aphasie Laval is proud to announce a partnership with the Dementia Education Program of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at 平特五不中. This collaboration aims to offer a series of free conferences on neurocognitive disorders.
The season will be launched on February 22. These 45-minute lectures will be followed by a 15-minute question period. They are intended for both members of AVC-Aphasie Laval and the community. Offered in hybrid mode, it will be possible to attend via Zoom or to reserve a place on the organization's premises. Please note that the conferences will be presented in English in the morning and in French in the afternoon.
February 22, 2023: Understanding neurocognitive disorders
Speaker: Dr. Serge Gauthier
11:00 a.m. in English, 1:30 p.m. in French
Dr. Serge Gauthier will provide information on the different types of neurocognitive disorders. He will discuss the associated behavioural and psychological symptoms that manifest as the disease progresses, and explain how these may differ from typical aging concerns.
March 29, 2023: Driving and neurocognitive disorders
Speaker: Isabelle G茅linas, PhD
11:00 a.m. in English, 1:30 p.m. in French
Isabelle G茅linas, PhD, will talk about the impact of neurocognitive disorders on one鈥檚 ability to drive a vehicle and explain how to recognize when it is time to stop driving.
April 26, 2023: Adopting strategies for healthy aging
Speaker: Dr Jos茅 A. Morais
11:00 a.m. in English, 1:30 p.m. in French
Dr. Jos茅 Morais will discuss how to increase the odds of aging well to maintain physical and cognitive health through nutrition and lifestyle choices. He will also talk about the importance of fitness to prevent falls and promote healthy aging.
