Sustainability Practices for Graduate Students

Mrs. John is a Sustainability Officer at 平特五不中鈥檚 Office of Sustainability working to integrate environmentally responsible practices in laboratories. Since 2022 she instituted engagement programs for the lab community and is now working with a broad coalition to develop systems to reduce and recycle lab waste university wide.
Objectives:
This session aims to inspire graduate students take simple steps to balance environmental, financial and social aspects of their personal and professional lives. The focus will be on impactful actions that minimise our environmental footprints at 平特五不中 and beyond.
Topics:
- Current resources that support a culture of sustainability at 平特五不中
- How individual and collective action help to advance sustainability (using examples from commuting and travel, lab work, and waste management).
Location: online via Zoom
