Post-secondary advocacy groups are figuring out how to develop a program that will put to use millions of dollars in federal funding to allow for more students to study abroad.
Minister of International Trade Diversification Jim Carr arrived in Edmonton on Thursday at the University of Alberta to re-announce the federal government鈥檚 nearly $148-million over five years spending commitment on an international education strategy. The cash will be rolled out starting in 2019-20 at $8-million per year.
Paul Davidson, president of Universities Canada, said his organization, as well as Colleges and Institutes Canada, are developing a program at the moment to allow for more students to go abroad.
