R脡SUM脡 / ABSTRACT
We intend to survey results from the last two decades on the elementary theory of groups. We will start with Tarski problem and the classification of the finitely generated groups that have the same elementary theory as a non-abelian free group. We will discuss further properties of the elementary theory of free and other groups, and finally talk about first order properties of general free products of groups, some of which are still rather mysterious.
