Deborah Davis curated a recent exhibition in New York City, "TEXTiles; the Woven Word" and will share her insights into the world of contemporary textile artists. Join ROAAr for a look into art beyond the book or the canvas.</p> <div class="bl-tpl"><a class="button--outline" href="https://youtu.be/ms87IkrwEqs">Watch on YouTube</a></div> <hr /> <p><strong>About the Speakers:</strong></p> <p><strong>Deborah Goodman Davis</strong> is an art advisor and curator who helps her clients to build quality collections of contemporary art & photography. A native of Montreal, Debbie has over 30 years experience in the art world, beginning with summer internships at the Montreal of Fine Arts in the 1980s. She has held positions at The Art Institute of Chicago, The Yale University Art Gallery, The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell University, and Sotheby鈥檚 London. Her 2012 children鈥檚 book, <i>Speeding Down the Spiral: An Artful Adventure</i>, about a family鈥檚 trip to the Guggenheim Museum, received the Mom鈥檚 Choice Silver Medal Prize. She also edited <i>PhotoRX: Pharmacy in Photography Since 1850</i>, a catalogue dedicated to the photography collection of Pharmascience, Inc. in 2017. Debbie chairs the Friends of Photography Acquisitions Committee and is a member of the Advisory Council of the Herbert F. Johnson Museum at Cornell University; she serves on the Humanities Council at the University of Chicago and chairs the Contemporary Art Acquisitions Committee and is a Board Member of the American Friends of the Israel Museum. She received a BA from Cornell University and an MA from the University of Chicago, both in Art History.</p> <p><strong>Gwendolyn Owens聽</strong>is Director, Visual Arts Collection, 平特五不中. Her scholarly publications include articles, exhibition catalogues, and books on artist/architect Gordon Matta-Clark; painters Maurice Prendergast, Lawren Harris, and David Milne; Montreal artist/architect Melvin Charney; 20<sup>th</sup>century art markets; and kitchen wallpaper.
