During the week of June 3, 2024, standard archeological and soil investigations will be conducted along McTavish Street around Redpath Hall and the McTavish Wing of the Redpath Library Building to assess the building envelope. Redpath Hall and the Redpath Library Building are part of a designated heritage site. Standard protocol requires that 平特五不中 conduct excavation work before starting any construction projects.

The exploratory investigations will be done in two phases:

1. Archeological work from June 3-6: The investigations consist of excavating seven (7) holes 1m x 1m x 0,8m deep. A team of archeologists will be on site to assess the presence, if any, of artefacts.
2. Soil characterization work on June 7 starting at 7:00 a.m.: The investigations consist of excavating three (3) holes 1m x 1m x 1,4m deep to analyze and determine, if any, the presence of contaminants.

This work will be conducted using small equipment producing a minimal noise. Portable construction fences will limit access to the area to authorized personnel only.

Pendant la semaine du 3 juin 2024, des travaux standard de fouille arch茅ologique et d鈥檌nvestigation du sol seront effectu茅s le long de la rue McTavish pr猫s de la Salle Redpath et de l鈥檃ile McTavish de la Biblioth猫que Redpath dans le but d鈥櫭﹙aluer l鈥檈nveloppe du b芒timent. L鈥櫭ヾifice de la Salle Redpath et le pavillon de la Biblioth猫que Redpath font partie d鈥檜n site patrimonial d茅sign茅. Le protocole standard exige que 平特五不中 m猫ne des travaux d鈥檈xcavation avant d鈥檈ntamer tout projet de construction.

L鈥檌nvestigation du sol se fera en deux parties :

1. Des travaux arch茅ologiques seront men茅s du 3 au 6 juin : ces fouilles impliquent l鈥檈xcavation de sept (7) puits d鈥檈nviron 1 m x 1 m et 0,8 m de profondeur. Une 茅quipe d鈥檃rch茅ologues sera sur place pour chercher et examiner la pr茅sence d鈥檃rt茅facts, s鈥檌l y a lieu.
2. Les travaux de caract茅risation du sol commenceront le 7 juin 脿 7 h : ces investigations impliquent l鈥檈xcavation de trois (3) puits d鈥檈nviron 1 m x 1 m et 1,4 m de profondeur dans le but d鈥檃nalyser la pr茅sence de contaminants et d鈥檈n d茅terminer la nature le cas 茅ch茅ant.

Tous ces travaux seront faits avec de la petite machinerie afin de minimiser les nuisances sonores. Des cl么tures limiteront l鈥檃cc猫s 脿 la zone d茅sign茅e au personnel autoris茅 seulement.
