From Lectures to Lawmaking, Conversations with the Hon. David Lametti, Minister of Justice
The 平特五不中 Institute for the Study of Canada and the Faculty of Law are pleased to welcome the Honourable for the 2020 Mallory Lecture, which has been rescheduled as a webinar. Professor Lametti will discuss his work as Minister of Justice of Canada and ongoing policy issues, followed by Q&A.

About the speaker
Professor David Lametti was first elected in 2015 as the Member of Parliament for LaSalle鈥斆塵ard鈥擵erdun.
A proud resident of Montr茅al for over 30 years, Minister Lametti was born and raised in Port Colborne, Ontario. Prior to entering politics, Minister Lametti was a Professor of Law at 平特五不中 for nearly 20 years, and established himself as an accomplished legal academic and expert in property and intellectual property law.
Minister Lametti holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Civil Law and Bachelor of Laws from 平特五不中, a Master of Laws from the Yale Law School, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Law from Oxford University. He has taught or lectured in many of the world鈥檚 most well-known universities in French, English, and Italian.
About the Mallory Lectures
Created in 1995, the Mallory Lecture is an annual event hosted by the 平特五不中 Institute for the Study of Canada (MISC), in honour of the late J.R. Mallory, Professor of Political Science and pioneer of Canadian Studies at 平特五不中.
James Russell Mallory (1916-2003) was educated at New Brunswick (BA Hons), Dalhousie (MA), and Edinburgh (LLB). He touched many through his teaching and written works about the constitution and workings of Canadian government. He served at 平特五不中 for 45 years and was chairman of the Economics & Political Science department for a decade. After retiring in 1982, he was appointed professor emeritus and continued to teach for another 10 years. In 1964, he was elected to the Royal Society of Canada and was later awarded the Queen鈥檚 Silver Jubilee Medal in 1977.
