Over 50 people attended the first Human Development Conference at ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ on April 22nd. The Keynote Speaker, Dr. William Bukowski from Concordia University, gave an excellent talk on the role of friendship in the onset and further development of anxiety during adolescence.

Four graduate students from the Human Development program (Megha Negar, Amanda Saxe, Devin Mills, and Domenico Tullo) gave paper presentations regarding their work on lie-telling behaviors, the needs of individuals with disabilities in employment settings, video game engagement, and assessments surrounding students’ academic and cognitive capabilities. The conference concluded with a wine and cheese during the poster session, which included more than 30 student presentations on a wide range of topics within the field of human development. Many of the attendees look forward to next year’s Human Development Conference.
