Translational Biomedical Engineering (M.Sc.A.)

Program Description

The Master of Science, Applied (M.Sc.A.) in Translational Biomedical Engineering (Non-Thesis) offered by the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is a course-based program that emphasizes experiential and career-focused learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in information synthesis, research evaluation, and knowledge transfer to pursue professional opportunities (or potentially continue their studies).

Unique Program Features

  • The 1-year professional training program includes core courses taught by industry-leading experts, and complementary courses taught by world-class professors in Biomedical Engineering;
  • The program also includes a 16-week experiential industry internship where students apply what they learned through their coursework in a real-world setting;
  • Graduates pursue careers as leading medical technology industry professionals, overseeing the design, development, and commercialization of biomedical technologies.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
