Program Description
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physiology offered by the Department of Physiology in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is a research-intensive program that emphasizes cutting-edge and stimulating learning opportunities. - The multidisciplinary nature of the Department exposes students to a vast array of research interests and experimental approaches and research work provides in-depth training in a broad range of disciplines from molecular and cellular to systems physiology covering multiple organ systems;
- Students admitted to the program are funded by a stipend coming from their supervisor's research grant;
- Department laboratories are equipped with the latest edge technology in next-generation sequencing, genome-modification, CRISPR-based gene editing, dense neurophysiological recording, high-throughput screening and in vivo two photon imaging to name a few.
