Library & Information Studies (Grad. Cert.)

Program Description

The Graduate Certificate (Gr. Cert.) in Library and Information Studies offered by the School of Information Studies in the Faculty of Arts is a course-based program that emphasizes rigorous and career-focused learning opportunities. Our comprehensive and innovative program offers a specialized and practical curriculum designed to equip students with advanced skills in information services.

Unique Program Features

  • The program allows professional librarians and information specialists currently holding a Master's degree from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited Master of Library & Information Studies program (or Master's degree from an equivalent ALA-accredited program) to enrich their current portfolio;
  • Each student is assigned a faculty advisor to help plan and design their individualized program of study;
  • The 15-credit program may be completed on a full-time or part-time basis, to a maximum of five years.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
