Program Description
The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Jewish Studies (Thesis) offered by the Department of Jewish Studies in the Faculty of Arts is a research-intensive program that emphasizes in-depth and dynamic learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in intellectual independence, literature review, and research dissemination to continue their studies or pursue professional opportunities.

- The MA program (Thesis) provides a foundational grounding for students who have pursued Jewish Studies courses through their B.A. and who now wish to increase their capacity within the broad field of Jewish civilizational studies;

- The Department of Jewish Studies is the only department of its kind in Canada and one of the few in North America. Our expertise is wide-ranging and extends especially to modern Jewish history (globally); medieval Jewish philosophy and modern Jewish thought, Hebrew and Jewish literature, and contemporary North American Jewish life (including education and social activism);
- Students benefit from the possibility (with the approval of the Department) to take a number of credits outside of the department and university and therefore benefit from the training of affiliated faculty at 平特五不中, Concordia, and other universities in Montreal.
