The Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute can now be found at

Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation and Cancer Research Network (RRCancer) visit at the GCI

It is with great pleasure that the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute (GCI) welcomed the Cancer Research Network (RRCancer) and the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation (QBCF) on April 21, 2023, for our annual partnership meeting.

This fruitful visit highlighted the GCI's breast cancer research advances and discoveries thanks to the biological materials, data banks and significant fundings from QBCF and RRCancer. Their continuous support and contribution are imperative to the success of breast cancer research groups and trainees at the GCI.

The visit began with opening remarks from Anne-Marie Mes-Masson, Ph. D., FCAHS, FRSC, Outgoing Director of RRCancer, followed by a presentation of RRCancer by Jean-Yves Masson, Ph. D., Incoming Director of RRCancer. Next, the GCI's Director and lead researcher and co-leader in charge of the Banque de donn茅es et de tissues (BTD), Morag Park, Ph. D., C.Q. FRSC, FCAHS, presented the biobank and associated research conducted at the GCI that utilize the BTD.

The groups then proceeded to visits of the GCI's laboratories and scientific platforms, including:

  • Oncometabolism - Led by Daina Avizonis, Ph. D., Charlotte Girondel,听Ph. D.,听and Marco Biondini,听Ph. D.
  • Tumor Histology - Led by Marie-Christine Guiot,听Ph. D., 平特五不中 Chair of Pathology
  • 3D Printing of Tumors - Led by Anne-Marie Fortier,听Ph. D.
  • Student presentation - Led by Matthew Dankner,听Ph. D.

Finally, all joined in the GCI atrium for light snacks and an open discussion.
