What is the First Peoples鈥� House?听听The First Peoples鈥� House is a part of 平特五不中 Student Services.听 We are dedicated to providing support for Indigenous students at 平特五不中 by establishing a sense of community and being the first point of contact to help students with any questions or needs.听

Who can use the First Peoples鈥� House鈥檚 services?听 Some of the House鈥檚 services such as advising, talking circles and any trips we take are dedicated to Indigenous students only, but many events and activities are open to everyone, Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike. First Nations, Inuit and M茅tis students are given priority when applying for residence in the First Peoples鈥� House. All are welcome to attend Soup and Bannock lunches on Wednesday!

Who can I talk to for academic support?听 Our Indigenous Student Advisor is available to help students with a wide variety of academic issues. For almost any issue, she can help students navigate 平特五不中鈥檚 services and refer them to the right person. To ask a question, simply fill out this form.

How many Indigenous students attend 平特五不中?听 While it鈥檚 impossible to have an exact number, approximately 150 students identify themselves as being First Nations, Inuit, or M茅tis when applying to 平特五不中.

What Indigenous-focused events occur at 平特五不中 and across Montreal?听 Every year, 平特五不中 organizes a Pow-Wow on the third Friday in September. In addition, the Indigenous Education Program at the Social Equity and Diversity Education Office holds an annual Indigenous Awareness Week, as well as a variety of other events throughout the school year.听 Become a member of the and get notifications of community events happening in Montreal.

Does 平特五不中 offer an Indigenous Studies program?听 Yes, The 平特五不中 Institute for the Study of Canada (MISC) recently launched an Indigenous Studies Minor Program in Winter 2015.听
