INDS 124 - Longitudinal Family Medicine Experience

The purposes of the Longitudinal Family Medicine Experience course are to provide students with early exposure to primary care and to provide an opportunity for clinical correlation with themes introduced in other components of the curriculum. Furthermore, the students will have the opportunity to practice history-taking and physical examination skills in a clinical setting. Each MDCM medical student will be paired with a Longitudinal Family Medicine聽preceptor and will attend patient sessions starting in the first month of medical school.

The course will run from September to June in Year 1 of the MDCM curriculum. The students will be working alongside two preceptors (one from September to mid-January and another from mid-January to June). The students will attend the preceptor's practice twice per month throughout the first year.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
