Isaac Tannenbaum Resident Research Day: highlighting quality improvement in Family Medicine Groups
On May 31, members of the Department of Family Medicine were invited to take a closer look at the clinical side of primary care through research projects presented by family medicine residents from the Department鈥檚 teaching units.
With topics ranging from Indigenous health to chronic pain management and urgent care, it was an important opportunity for trainees to share their findings with others on a variety of issues in their working environment and elsewhere. Each team was paired with a student member of the Graduate Studies division, commonly called 鈥淭annenbaum fellows鈥.
鈥淲hat I see today is a wide variety of interesting and important research being conducted in our units,鈥 said Dr. Howard Bergman, Chair of the Department of Family Medicine. 鈥淚t has been a really exciting week for me as the Chair, with the FAMSIG Gala, the Family Medicine Research Symposium and the Hirsh Rosenfeld Public Lecture, as all these events bring together the best of our Department and it makes me incredibly proud.鈥
The day was concluded by a ceremony honouring close to 70 outgoing residents from all teaching sites, as they will be completing their residency on June 30, 2019.
The following residents also received awards after presenting their research findings:
