This Lecture will explore why schizophrenia has historically been regarded as a strange disease, a perception linked to changing understandings of the brain.
This strangeness has affected how we think about schizophrenia鈥檚 causes and how we treat those afflicted. As growing research in the neurosciences has
identified schizophrenia as a disease of the brain, we are on the cusp of a new era in which science trumps strangeness, with promising possibilities for all.
