PhD candidate Anish Arora publishes a study on the challenges that migrants living with HIV encounter

Anish K. Arora, PhD candidate at the Department of Family Medicine, recently published in the journal HIV Medicine on the challenges that migrants living with HIV encounter.

The study seeks to understand the time it took for migrants living with HIV to begin treatment and to reach HIV viral undetectability in an innovative model of care at the 平特五不中 Health Centre; and the effect of social determinants of health and other covariates on these times. Findings provide preliminary support for adopting a care model with migrants living with HIV and suggest that social determinants of health should be considered when designing clinical interventions for more equitable outcomes.

Anish is a Vanier Scholar awarded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and holds an MSc in Family Medicine (Medical Education Concentration) from 平特五不中 and an Honours BSc in Biology (minor in Psychology) from McMaster University.
