Christopher RICE
Biography:
Chris' research focuses on the philosophical underpinnings of 19th-century American literature and its depictions of evil鈥攑articularly in the work of Herman Melville. His work examines the problem of evil as it relates to literary form in Melville's writing and situates it in relation to early-modern discussions of evil as a metaphysical or moral reality. Chris has previously taught as a faculty fellow in the Foundation Year Programme at the University of King's College.
