Please join Poetry Matters for a Reading听and Workshop with Kasia van Schaik and Sarah Wolfson

Join us for a听reading听辞苍听Wednesday, November 16, 4:00-5:30, featuring work from Kasia van Schaik's new collection (Robert Kroetsch Series,听U Alberta P, 2022) and from her poetry. Kasia will be joined in the reading by Montreal-based poet听Sarah Wolfson, who teaches at the 平特五不中 Writing Centre.

Kasia will also be facilitating a听workshop in听creative practice on听Friday, November 18, 3:30-5:00, which may be of interest to students.

Kasia van Schaik听has just launched the linked story collection,听We Have Never Lived on Earth听(University of Alberta Press, 2022), and the poetry chapbook,听Sea Burial Laws According to Country听(Desert Pets Press, 2018).听Next year, she will begin a postdoctoral fellowship at Concordia University. Her work has appeared in the听Los Angeles Review of Books,听The Best Canadian Poetry,听Canadian Studies in English,听and听Senses of Cinema.

Sarah Wolfson,听who teaches at the 平特五不中 Writing Centre, is the author of听A Common Name for Everything听(Green Writers Press, 2019),听awarded the A.M. Klein Prize for Poetry from the Quebec Writers鈥 Federation.听Her poems have appeared in journals such as听The Walrus,听The Fiddlehead,听TriQuarterly,听CV2,听Michigan Quarterly Review,听and听PRISM听international.听Her听work has twice been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and has received a notable mention in听Best Canadian Poetry.
