Garden of Literary Delights
The 'Garden of Literary Delights', or GOLD, is an annually curated event by the Kabir Cultural Centre, Montreal, since 2021. It seeks to promote Canadian writers of South Asian origin and the theme is diversity: of form, style, subject, and genre.听The evening will feature readings, panel discussions, giveaways and more.
About the individual artists on this year's panel:
- Farzana Doctor is a Tkaronto-based author, activist and psychotherapist who has written four critically acclaimed novels, including the bestselling,听Seven,听which explores the issue of female genital mutilation/cutting. Her most recent work is a poetry collection.听

Shailee, based in Montreal,听is a writer, poet, playwright and literary scholar who recently published her first book, a graphic novel:听My Story, My Voice:听Sita and Helen (yes, Helen of Troy).听

Toronto-based Angela Misri is an award-winning journalist (CBC and more), educator and author of YA, adult and children鈥檚 fiction. She will regale you with the adventures of her creation,听Portia Adams, Sherlock Holmes鈥� granddaughter!听

Playwright and short story writer, Zahida听Rahemtulla has won accolades for听plays,听The Wrong Bashir听(a comedy about mistaken identity)听and听The Frontliners听both of听which premiered in her hometown, Vancouver.
