"Cyclorama" opens on October 13th!
鈥� [...] it鈥檚 about two听鈥媓istories that have been ignorant of听each other for a long time: those of the French-听and English-language听theatres of Quebec.鈥�
听is a theatrical experience in three acts and three places 鈥� the Centaur Theatre, a bus鈥�,听and the Centre du Th茅芒tre d鈥橝ujourd鈥檋ui. This听play听dives听into the history of Montreal theatre to听surface听the stories we听tell听that make us who we are.
Professor Erin Hurley has been the historical consultant听for听, and is also part of the cast. Her involvement in the project stems from her research 鈥溾�� (ELTQ), a SSHRC-funded research project on the history of听drama and theatre in English听from 1930 to 2015 using archival research, oral histories, and literary analysis as key methods. ELTQ led Prof. Hurley to collaborate with听Cyclorama's听creator, director, and actor Laurence Dauphinais.
