Children鈥檚 World,听the first journal to publish Children鈥檚 Literature in vernacular Chinese, has played a positive role in promoting children鈥檚 literature in Modern China. By publishing various听types听of children's literature (myths, fables, fiction, fairy tales, poetry, fantasy, plays, picture stories, etc.) both by Chinese and foreign writers, as well as by children themselves, this journal ushered in the era of Children's Literature Creation in modern China. This talk will explore the relationship between听Children鈥檚 World听and the engendering of Chinese Children's Literature. It will also discuss the significance of听Children鈥檚 World听in the history of Modern Chinese children's literature.听
