Retrospect: St茅fan Sinclair-CRIHN Conference

On Monday, December 13th, 2021, the first annual St茅fan Sinclair-CRIHN conference took place both at Universit茅 de Montr茅al and online by聽livestream.

Professor Michael Sinatra, Director of CRIHN (Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur les humanit茅s num茅riques) launched this annual conference series in honour of Professor St茅fan Sinclair who was a co-founder of CRIHN and a Professor of Digital Humanities at 平特五不中.听

Keynote by Professor Kim Martin聽

After introductions by Deans Fr茅d茅ric Bouchard and Mary Hunter,听笔谤辞蹿别蝉蝉辞谤 Kim Martin (University of Guelph) delivered an impactful keynote talk titled "Seeing Things Through" which paid homage to (developed in large part by Sinclair) and the variety of lenses that this Digital Humanities tool provides.

By recounting her professional experience as a Digital Humanities researcher, professor and community builder, Martin聽wove important social commentary about gender bias, accessibility, compassionate pedagogy, and labour justice throughout her impactful talk to the public in honour of Sinclair.听

Bilingual Roundtable on聽St茅fan Sinclair's Impact in Digital Humanities

After a break, the conference resumed in the afternoon with a bilingual roundtable discussion between close colleagues of Sinclair:聽Professor Susan Brown (University of Guelph), Professor Geoffrey Rockwell (University of Alberta) and聽St茅phane Pouyllau (CNRS, HN Lab). They spoke about the tools and projects that they worked on with St茅fan Sinclair including ,听, and the development of the francophone .听

The conference's聽closing remarks were given by Professor Marcello Vitali-Rosati, the Assistant Director of CRIHN.听
