Anita Nowak and Jeff Baikowitz receive Quebec Notable Awards

Anita Nowak (BCom鈥97, PhD鈥11), Integrating Director, Social Economy Initiative (SEI), and Jeff Baikowitz, Chairman, SEI Leadership Council, are winners of the inaugural Quebec Notable Awards in the Education and Social Good categories, respectively. Professor Steve Maguire receives Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal

With Mary Gordon, Founder of Roots of Empathy

Mary Gordon is an award-winning social entrepreneur, educator, best-selling author, child advocate and parenting expert. In 1996, Gordon founded Roots of Empathy, a pioneering, evidence-based classroom program that helps to reduce levels of aggression among schoolchildren, while raising social/emotional competence and increasing empathy. Learning the legal and corporate realities of sustainability

For many people, sustainability in business is an afterthought. Not for me. Over the last two years, I have spent my time at 平特五不中鈥檚 law faculty where my passion for sustainability has grown tremendously. Taking courses on environmental law and business law was an eye-opening experience. Often enough, the law responded too slowly to sustainability issues yet business had the capacity and resources to act immediately.
