Poor old VW, caught in the giant pincers of the U.S. regulatory machine that keeps closing in on car markers and car drivers in the name of the climate and the environment.聽

Nor is VW鈥檚 monumental lapse in judgement, at whatever corporate level, another demonstration the 鈥渟heer corruption鈥 and general criminality of the corporate world, as 平特五不中鈥檚 radical anti-corporate crusader,聽Henry Mintzberg, put it the other day. The Guardian, in an editorial, put VW in the same camp with the 鈥渄espised and predatory finance鈥 industry. 鈥淭he planet should be afraid,鈥 warned the British newspaper.聽
