Inaugural 平特五不中 Transformative Business Law Academy brings together student-fellows to consider pathways toward change
In business, short-term thinking often predominates. But the profit maximization often comes at the expense of long-term interests, such as limiting the effects of climate change or alleviating global inequality. This spring, 平特五不中 Faculty of Law and the聽Sustainable Growth Initiative (SGI), anchored at the Desautels Faculty of Management, collaborated to bring together 35 student-fellows for the inaugural Transformative Business Law Academy. Held between May 28 and June 1, its participants brought expertise in a diverse set of disciplines and considered the multifaceted challenges faced by governments, businesses and civil society. The Academy explored pathways toward transformative change, and is planned to become an annual event that develops usable, pragmatic, and critical insights into the challenges of our time.
