Generous gift from Lester J. Fernandes will endow research Chair in Business Ethics
When it comes to ethical behaviour in business, there are many shades of grey. Parsing them requires a strong ethical compass, and the Laidley Centre for Business Ethics and Equity, founded in 2022 with a gift from David Laidley (BCom鈥�67), is helping the next generation of business leaders do exactly that. Thanks to a generous gift from Lester J. Fernandes (MBA鈥�82), a new research Chair in Business Ethics endowment will help expand the Laidley Centre鈥檚 footprint. 鈥淥ld sayings like 鈥榞reed is good鈥� and 鈥榯he end justifies the means鈥� are just that 鈥� old sayings,鈥� says Fernandes. 鈥淚t is important that the professional who occupies the Chair has the will, integrity, and experience to investigate issues that are not always straightforward or transparent.鈥�
