Desautels students earn all three podium places at Global Goals Jam Case Competition

Published: 8 October 2020

ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ graduate student Michael Bourkas (MBA’22) has taken home first place in the Global Goals Jam Case Competition at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, with peers Conor Grieve (MBA’21) and Nandini Biswas Jain (MBA’22) following close behind in second and third places, respectively.

The case competition was hosted in September by three MBA clubs at Queen’s University—the Sustainability Club, Women in Leadership Club and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Club—with distinct mandates and competitions for each. Bringing together students from Ivey, Rotman, Desautels, Sauder, Schulich, HEC Montreal, and Smith, students joined virtually and were placed in randomized teams across different programs and universities.

The three Desautels MBA students competed in separate teams in the arm of the competition. Their mandate was to develop solutions to help the city of Kingston, Ontario, attain a 65% residential solid waste diversion rate by 2025.

Congratulations to Michael, Conor and Nandini on earning all three podium places in the sustainability-focused competition.
