Desautels African Business Initiative features alumni panellist Sekou Coulibaly
Each year, the 平特五不中 Desautels African Business Initiative (DABI) brings together attendees, panelists and guest speakers for an opportunity to learn, network and engage in stimulating discussions about the future of business in Africa. This year鈥檚 panelists included Sekou Coulibaly (BCom鈥03), who was executive director at L鈥橭r茅al before launching a sustainable, made-in-Africa luxury clothing brand called SEKBI Bogolan in 2020. 鈥淎s a graduate of 平特五不中, I was thrilled to return to my alma mater where the textile dream started to engage with global contemporaries on the potential of Africa using creative industries as soft power to build a sustainable competitive advantage,鈥 says Coulibaly. 鈥淲ith Sekbi, my partners and I have seen firsthand how a trademarked signature print inspired by African heritage and focusing on high quality and sustainability standards can cater to a global audience.鈥
