MBA reflections

Coming from all four corners of the world, our MBA candidates bring a unique set of experiences, which contribute to the diversity of our hand-picked cohort. Today, in the Desautels MBA blog, we interviewed Amy Dumoulin (MBA'18).

I will never forget my first day of the ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ MBA program. I remember getting ready that morning with endless questions running through my mind; walking up to the Bronfman building with the feeling that I was stepping into my future; and finally meeting the men and women who would quickly become my second family.

In only a few weeks, the Bronfman building became so much more than classrooms and study rooms; it became a place where you can always find a friend, a place to have a laugh or work through difficult times, a place to reflect. It became a home away from home.

The ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ MBA program brings together people from all around the world, of different ages, incredibly varied backgrounds and interests, and yet these people come together to form one dynamic, collaborative, supportive and fun Desautels MBA family.

Culture comes alive in our MBA program.

The Desautels family loves to celebrate the cultures that make up its fabric; from Diwali celebrations, to Thanksgiving dinners, to Chinese New Year festivities and Latin American music and dance nights, there is infinite opportunity to bond with classmates and celebrate our diversity.

I remember going into the program thinking that two years seemed like too much time – too much time to be studying and not working, too much time away from friends and family at home. From where I stand now, more than halfway through the second last term, two years feels like the blink of an eye.

The past year and a half have been more intense than I could have ever imagined. The pressure can be immense; weeks go by with no time off, sleep can be scarce, and at times your personal life becomes a second priority. But at the same time, amidst the stress, my time in the program has been the most happy, inspiring, motivating and exciting time of my life.

If I had to describe the MBA program in one word it would be "fulfilling". The memories you will make during your time as a student of the Desautels MBA program will be some of the best. It’s a time to conquer fears, challenge yourself on an academic and professional level, and make incredible friends. If you let it, the ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ MBA program can be an incomparable opportunity to reinvent yourself.
