In late 1985, as the AIDS epidemic spread globally at increasingly alarming rates, the MGH opened a clinic dedicated exclusively to the care of AIDS patients, directed by Dr. Christos Tsoukas. The AIDS Clinic – later renamed the Immune Deficiency Treatment Centre – was the first of its kind in Canada, bringing together immunologists, psychiatrists, infectious disease specialists, dermatologists and other professionals?
