Many of our Faculty members celebrated a book recently published entitled Mandibular Implant Prostheses: Guidelines for Edentulous Geriatric Populations. Edited by Dean Elham Emami and Professor Jocelyne Feine, it is the fruit of a collaboration amongst ƽÌØÎå²»ÖÐ’s faculty members and other leading researchers in the field. Published by Springer this summer, it aims to advance clinicians’ knowledge and competence in treating older edentulous patients with mandibular implant overdentures.
The book is published at a time when aging is at the forefront of global health discussions. In addition, the burden that elderly patients face in maintaining their oral health-related quality of life and well-being is a true concern for dentists. Mandibular Implant Prostheses offers a comprehensive step-by-step guide to practice that is based on up-to-date clinical and research data; it offers advice on how to discuss treatment planning, as well as treatment options, with patients and describes patient management in the surgical and prosthetic phases.
