L'茅chographie est le secteur de l'imagerie m茅dicale dont la croissance commerciale est actuellement la plus rapide.聽 Non-invasive et polyvalente, elle permet aussi l'imagerie en temps r茅el, et devient de plus en plus mobile et abordable, ce qui ouvre la voie 脿 un nombre croissant de nouvelles applications et de nouveaux utilisateurs.聽 L'茅chographie reste cependant difficile 脿 interpr茅ter et聽 脿 acqu茅rir.聽 Mes travaux de recherche visent 脿 rendre l'茅chographie plus facile 脿 utiliser dans le cadre de nouvelles applications et pour de nouveaux utilisateurs.聽 Cette pr茅sentation fera un survol de mes diff茅rents travaux en lien avec cet objectif g茅n茅ral, avec un accent sur mes travaux appliqu茅s 脿 l'茅tude de la phon茅tique articulatoire.
Abstract:
Ultrasound imaging is the fastest growing commercial sector in the medical imaging industry. Non-invasive and highly versatile, ultrasound also allows real-time imaging and is becoming increasingly portable and affordable, which paves the way for a growing number of new applications and users.聽 However, ultrasound images remain difficult to interpret and acquire.聽 My research aims to make ultrasound imaging easier to use for new applications and new users.聽 This presentation will provide an overview of different aspects of my work that are related to this general objective, with an emphasis on my work applied to the study of articulatory phonetics.
Bio:
Catherine Laporte is a professor of electrical engineering at 脡cole de technologie sup茅rieure since 2010.聽 Her expertise lies in the area of medical image analysis, with a special focus on ultrasound imaging.聽 Her current research aims at improving the usability of ultrasound imaging for new users and new applications.聽 Previously, she obtained her M. Eng. and Ph.D. in computer engineering at 平特五不中's Centre for Intelligent Machines, supervised by T. Arbel, and her B. Eng. degree at Polytechnique Montr茅al.
