Dr. Myrna Lashley will receive an honorary doctorate from University of Ottawa in recognition of her many remarkable accomplishments. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Marc Chammas as the new Director of Undergraduate Medical Education. He will be replacing Dr. Meterissian whose term ended June 30, 2024. As Director, Dr. Chammas will work closely with the Associate Chair of Education and be responsible for development and advancement of all aspects of UGME within the Department of Psychiatry.

The discovery suggests that including both male and female subjects in neuroscience research will lead to more accurate conclusions and ultimately better health outcomes.

Understanding the influence of sex on brain function can help explain why males and females develop certain psychiatric disorders at different rates or with different symptoms, the researchers said.

Dr. Seyed Mohammad Amin Ojagh, from Prof. van de Ven's research group and his colleagues, introduced a novel class of highly functionalized nanocellulose-based materials for diverse applications, recently published in the Chemical Engineering Journal.
