Wall Street Journal:聽Tom Petty聽wasn鈥檛 holding a grudge聽against Sam Smith for the similarities between his 鈥淚 Won鈥檛 Back Down鈥� from 1989 and 鈥淪tay With Me鈥濃�擬r. Smith鈥檚 triple Grammy-nominated hit鈥攅nded months of nail-biting for Grammy officials. While Mr. Petty鈥檚 feelings certainly were eased by the agreement reached to add him and Jeff Lynne to the song鈥檚 writing credits and share the royalties, the cliffhanger was a fitting prequel to this year鈥檚 awards ceremony, taking place in Los Angeles on Feb. 8.
