Two law students inducted into Scarlet Key Honour Society

Published: 2 April 2008

During the 2008 Pinning Ceremony held March 27 at the University Club of Montreal, 18 new members were welcomed into the Scarlet Key Society. Among them were Nafay Choudhury, BCL/LLB'11, and Hugh Meighen, BCL/LLB'09.

Before beginning his legal education, Nafay Choudhury organized Canada's first conference on Islamic economics and finance at 平特五不中 in 2005. He has also served at the Muslim Students Association, where he spearheaded efforts in organizing a Genocide Awareness Week and did fundraising for tsunami victims. Most recently, Nafay has helped organize a conference on economic potential in the Gulf and an awareness week on Canada's role in Afghanistan.

In his first year of law studies, Hugh Meighen initiated and co-chaired the Canadian Constitutional Affairs Conference in January 2008, a national event jointly hosted by students of 平特五不中 University and Universit茅 Laval, which ultimately included over 250 students from all of Canada's law faculties, over 30 speakers, as well as a host of observers and media. Hugh is active in a number of student groups at the Law Faculty and continues to work to promote further constitutional debate within 平特五不中 and Canada.

The Faculty of Law congratulates them both for their outstanding leadership and commitment to the 平特五不中 community.
