Some changes in directors and associate deans at the Faculty of Law
Several changes among its directors and associate deans have occurred at the Faculty.
Professor , who became research director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy in 2007, has succeeded Professor as Associate Dean (Academic). Genevi猫ve Saumier served in this role from 2005 to 2008.
Canada Research Chair in Law and Discourse Chair recently began his tenure as Associate Dean (Research), where he will support and coordinate legal research initiatives at the Faculty. He succeeds Professor , who has left on sabbatical to teach and do research in France and in India.
Professor has taken over the role of Director at the Centre for Intellectual Propery Policy, where she is also a member of the transdisciplinary Intellectual Property Modeling Group. She succeeds Professor , who is the Centre鈥檚 founding director and also behind the new The Innovation Partnership (TIP) initiative.
Professor , who specializes in the areas of family law, health law and health policy issues, has been appointed the newest director of the Institute for Comparative Law. The Institute of Comparative Law focusses on teaching and researching law from a pluralistic perspective.
Finally, Professor , who was made a member of the Order of Canada last December, has completed his tenure as co-director of the Centre for European Studies. Professor de Mestral, who is holder of the Jean Monnet Chair in the Law of International Economic Integration, will be taking the opportunity of a short sabbatical to write on regional trade and investment agreements and direct a research project.
