The following areas are completed and are, or soon will be, in use by 平特五不中 researchers and students:

  • The third floor, corner and west block laboratories.
  • The fourth floor, west block laboratory.

The laboratories have been completely reconfigured and renovated. The electrical, heating and ventilation systems have been updated to meet modern industry and energy standards.

Mechanical rooms serving the building have been significantly renovated, in order to provide more reliable services, comfortable ambient temperatures for people using the building and to improve exhaust and fresh air intake.

Two of the four temporary ventilation units have been removed from the Otto Maass building exterior, as the new permanent ventilation system for much of the building is now in service.

New lab benches and industrial exhaust hoods are being installed on the second floor of the Pulp and Paper building. Basement laboratories are being prepared for the new fixtures. The building is still in the active construction phase with completion expected in August.
