The Montreal Children's Hospital Holds Birthday Party in its Booth

The Montreal Children's Hospital and Women's Health Mission of the 平特五不中 Health Centre (MUHC) are extremely proud to once again be participating in the Salon de Maternit茅, Paternit茅, Enfants at Place Bonaventure, April 1 to 4. This is the 13th consecutive year the Children's has taken part in this family event; and this year is that much more significant as it is the Children's 100th anniversary.

The Children's opened its doors on January 30, 1904. At the time, it was a small orthopedic hospital with only five beds. Today, Quebec's first pediatric hospital has 180 beds and treats 70,000 Quebec children (infants to 18-year-olds) each year. The Children's doctors and nurses have become known for their expertise in many fields including cardiac care and brain surgery. The Children's is also renowned for its excellence in genetic research and trauma care. It also continues to excel in orthopedics, where children with such conditions as juvenile arthritis, severe spinal deformities and traumatic fractures receive the finest and most advanced care available.

Visit the MUHC at booth #431. It's easy to find, just look for the giant castle. You'll be able to ask questions of various health care professionals from the Children's and from the Women's Health Mission of the MUHC's Royal Victoria Hospital site.

You can also pick up a wide variety of Health Tip Sheets. Topics include: dealing with whooping cough, treating minor head injuries, and preventing asthma attacks. There will be entertainment for all ages including a face painter, a magician, clowns and a music therapist.

See you at the Salon!
