平特五不中 BCom students put their management skills to the test in a case competition last month where they competed against other business students from across the world. Sponsored by Citigroup and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the second annual Citigroup International Case Competition took place from October 26-30, 2004, at the HKUST campus in Hong Kong. Seventeen teams from around the globe competed on a real-life business case about an Asian firm. The teams had only 36 hours upon receiving the case to come up with their recommendations.

平特五不中's contingent consisted of fourth-year BCom students Felix-Etienne Lebel, Sebastien Gagnon, Tanya Karout and Jennifer Worden. Over the past year, the team members had all taken Richard G. Donovan's class Case Analysis and Presentation. Associate Dean Donovan also acted as an adviser to the team throughout the competition in Hong Kong.

In the preliminary round, 平特五不中 competed against teams from Ivey (University of Western Ontario), Washington, Navarra (Spain) and Bocconi (Italy). Due to their exceptional performance in this first round, the 平特五不中 team moved on to the finals, competing against Thammasat (Thailand), the National University of Singapore and Tsinghua U (China). All teams put in a valiant effort, and after much deliberation by the judges, the team from Thammasat was eventually crowned victorious over the 平特五不中 team.
