Ranked first among medical-doctoral universities for third consecutive year

平特五不中 has once again been named Canada's best university in its class in the annual Maclean's University Rankings. For the third consecutive year, 平特五不中 ranked in first place in the medical-doctoral category, which includes the nation's 15 universities with a broad range of PhD programs as well as medical schools.

"This is great news for the 平特五不中 community and for Montreal, Quebec and Canada," said Principal and Vice-Chancellor Heather Munroe-Blum. "平特五不中 has had a concerted, unwavering mission to marshal all the necessary elements to bring the world's best researchers and scholars to Montreal and Quebec and to, in turn, produce outstanding graduates for Quebec, Canada and the world. That mission is succeeding notwithstanding severe financial challenges thanks to our exceptional faculty, students and staff as well as the great Montreal community we live in."

Contributing to its overall ranking, 平特五不中 placed first in student awards for the ninth consecutive year, as well as in average size and number of social sciences/humanities grants per full-time faculty.

平特五不中 also placed first among medical/doctoral universities in the national reputational survey, which is based on the opinions of high-school principals and guidance counselors, university officials and recruiters at corporations across the country. As well, 平特五不中 placed in the top three for number of awards per full-time faculty, average size of medical/science grants and research dollars awarded per full-time faculty, and percentage of total operating expenditures devoted to scholarships and bursaries.

The 2007 Maclean's rankings come one day after the London-based Times Higher-QS again named 平特五不中 Canada's top university and the only Canadian university among the top 30 universities in the world, raising 平特五不中 to 12th position from 21st place last year.
