Help for Haiti

The 平特五不中 community has responded quickly and admirably to the disaster in Haiti, and there is still time to help make a difference. Here is an update on all fundraising efforts for Haiti relief taking place across campus:

鈥⒙犅犅犅犅犅 The Arts Undergraduate Society (AUS) is well on the way to its goal of $6000 for Oxfam Quebec. Until Jan. 25, there will be jugs in the AUS Lounge (Leacock, B-12) for collecting funds, they will canvass classrooms for donations, and collect at the Roddick Gates from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A bake sale and clothing drive will be held from 10 to 3 on the Jan. 25, also in the Lounge.

鈥⒙犅犅犅犅犅 Starting Monday, 平特五不中 Security Services agents will criss-cross both the downtown and Mac campuses with red buckets collecting for the Red Cross.

鈥⒙犅犅犅 聽聽Marion Butler of Development and Alumni Relations is helping organize a pair of benefit concerts in conjunction with Health Partners International Canada (HPIC) and the Salvation Army to raise money. The concerts will include classical, brass band and jazz music, as well as traditional Haiti folk music arrangement. The first will be held on Jan. 30 at a venue to be determined, the second on Jan. 31 at the Snowdon Baptist Church, 5275 Earnscliffe Ave. Both concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and people will be asked to make donations at the door. 鈥⒙犅犅犅犅犅 The Law Students Associations and the Law Faculty鈥檚 Human Rights Working Group are collecting donations at the end of classes, and have set up a 鈥渢oonie trail鈥 in the Atrium of Chancellor Day Hall.
