Dr. Eun Park of the School of Information Studies awarded SSHRC grant for research on historical data as networked knowledge
Congratulations to 平特五不中 School of Information Studies faculty member Dr. Eun Park on her two-year 平特五不中 Internal SSHRC (Social Sciences and Humanities) Development Grant for her project "Linked Historical Collections as Networked Knowledge."
Project description
Historical data has become more collaborative and interdisciplinary, advancing knowledge in multidisciplinary fields such as Information Science, History, Literature, Cultural Studies, Library Science, Computer Science and Geography. Professor Park's study聽focuses on developing a semantically linked ontology model in an OWL and RDF repository for large historical collections. The project's new approach will explicitly reconceptualise and restructure historical collections in a more dynamic, interactive and iterative manner to consider historical resources as networked knowledge.
The research will benefit academic and non-academic communities across a variety of fields by increasing collaboration and dissemination in an open-access linked data web.
